Expensive bit of the jigsaw.

An expensive bit of this massive jigsaw landed today.
Here is a hybrid turbo, made to suit the VW T3 1.6TD exhaust manifold and downpipe, oil feed pipe and return line. It also has the added advantage of the turbo support bracket still fitting. The turbine and compressor are that of a tdi so physically it looks like a JX turbo but behaves like a 1Z turbo and has a conventional waste gate actuator so it can still be operated by the N75 boost pressure control solenoid. Well, that’s the theory anyway!

Trial fit of IAT/intake manifold pressure sensor.

Just starting to mock up the inlet tract,
I’ve had a blank made for the inlet manifold to house the inlet air temperature sender/inlet manifold pressure sender. Not 100% if it’s a good idea or not yet, if heat from the engine will affect the sensor readings or if the temperature sensor is too far out of the air flow for it to be effective. Work in progress this one.

Clutch pedal repair

Sorry, start from the bottom and work up!
Pedal box came out and got some love, good job really as the pedal was properly worn, the clevis pin was toast and all the grease has dried out on the shaft the pedal sits on. All tidy now though along with a fresh FTE (OEM) clutch master and a new 10″ brake servo to complement those dirty great brakes I’ve fitted to slow down the 205R16 tyres I plan to fit.
